Paul "The Man" Tudor Jones in the NYT

Quote from Thunderdog:

You just keep giving and giving and giving, don't you surf? How did I just know that any thread about PTJ would quickly find you and your industrial container of rare copies of PTJ tapes? Tape prices seem to have gone down a tad, haven't they? Perhaps you could plot a chart with the prices for these exceedingly rare copies of the PTJ tape that mysteriously pop out of you VCR from time to time whenever the opportunity presents itself. To see if there is a price trend of sorts...

Quit diverting profits.

HI Surf,

Any clue, why PTJ did not want wide circulation for the tape. After all, wasn't it aired on PBS?

Thanks,

yes, he pulled the tape off the market almost immediately after it was released. it is rumoured that he paid shockingly high sums to those who had the document. It was on PBS, but i think only in local markets, however, i am not sure.

he talks about some specifics of his strategy with his chief TA guy peter borish, however, i am not exactly sure why he pulled the tape. I know several copies were sold in excess of $750.00
