I can tell you one thing, if I am ever running for office I will sure never suggest a way to fix anything. People like things just the way they are. Let my opponent point out the fact that it is unsustainable, see how many votes that gets him.

medicare has an easy fix. means test and do something about end of life costs. yes we may have to have an adult discussion about "death panels"if we can keep republicans from demagoging it.
we are soon coming to the point where machines can keep old people alive who knows how long on machines so we need to have an adult conversation about cost benefit analysis.

I may not always agree with some on the left, but I enjoy the humor some of them often employ. Especially Brass. Pretty damn funny sometimes (not trying to encourage anything here!) Personally, I'm trying to be less serious about shit I have absolutely no control over. How else will I live long enough to see if the death panels are really going to come true?
