Paul Ryan is either a chameleon, a flip-flopper or a liar.

I'm not saying they would have. I am saying that the way it was done could have been done other ways, but the dems with unchecked power chose the way that granted them the most power while still not achieving the stated goal.

thats just nonsense. if obama were king instead of president he would not have chosen what it ended up being.
democrats retreated to what we have now because republicans used to support that approach. look at romneycare.

Hardly a parallel....

Somalia must be utopia for guys that think like you do.

""progressives" in general are authoritarian, you want to tell adults what they can and can't do,"
so are progressive the ones trying to ban gay marriage, abortion ect?

I don't believe in 'utopia'.

I don't care about gay marriage, but I don't get why they can't just call them civil unions with the same legal benefits.

Abortion is totally different, while I have said that I can deal with the present law, I would prefer that they weren't allowed except in extenuating circumstances. I said in my previous post that an individuals freedom ends when it violates another persons, in this case the other person is the baby. When the fetus becomes a person I guess is the issue but we know that if the fetus is healthy it is going to be a person. call me crazy, but I just can't condone killing babies. Funny how the left is all about compassion and trying to "reform", not punish criminals, but attack anyone that thinks a baby deserves to be born. Can you explain that to me?

This is total bullshit. They had full control of all law making bodies and passed exactly what they wanted to. NOT ONE rep voted for obamacare so really just don't say they did it because it has/had republican support.. that is a retarded, ridiculous lie.

Quote from Maverick74:

No, I did not equate the two. I wanted to know far you would go which is why I threw the extreme out there to see if even at that end, would you still nod your head with your messiah and agree with him? It doesn't do me any good to name 100 different issues and run through a check list with you so I put the extreme marker out there. And see if even way out there, are you still with your man? I just think you're a ditto head brass. You will never ever ever be critical of your side. And that speaks volumes about you. Call me whatever names you want. I have come to expect that from you. It's all so predictable.
I think Obama was wrong before on the marriage issue because I don't give a crap what sheep and goat herders thought 2,000 years ago. I'd like to think that he was just waiting for the right time to announce his current position and had it all along, but I'm okay with his having evolved into it more recently. So, either way, I'm good. But, again, I thought his earlier pronouncement was parochial. Feel better? Gosh, I sure hope so.

Everyone?

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/cbo-obamacare-will-leave-30-million-uninsured

On the same day the Supreme Court issued its ruling, President Barack Obama delivered a speech in which he said 30 million Americans presently without health coverage will now have the opportunity to obtain affordable health plans.

“If you’re one of the 30 million Americans who don’t yet have health insurance, starting in 2014, this law will offer you an array of quality, affordable, private health insurance plans to choose from,” said Obama.

However, as the CBO concludes, despite all the new government regulations and bureaucracies, taxes and subsidies created by Obamacare, there will still be 30 million uninsured people in the United States a decade from now."

There is one solution, single payer. Rationing is ok and it's the way the system works now. No insurance, no care, see we have rationing now. Evil big brother making health care decisions will probably be better than evil big business making health care decisions.
