Paul Krugman jumps the shark.

If you ever wondered why your comment never ends up posted to an article, I thought this comment was rather pertinent:


Sensing that his comments would ignite controversy, Krugman had preemptively disabled reader comments for the blog post. “I didn’t have time to sift through the predictable vast pile of obscene and threatening stuff looking for the rare entries that were fit to print,” Krugman said in Slate.

Most people forget that Paul Krugman was a consultant for ENRON, receiving $37.5K for his services. (Krugman says that was a bargain since he usually charges $20k for a one-hour speech.)

In 1999 he wrote a complimentary article about ENRON. Two years later, in 2001 when ENRON collapsed, he turned around and bashed Enron in an article in which he placed much of the blame on ENRON's consultants... Go figure.
