Paul Krugman Declares Personal Bankruptcy

Quote from PHOENIX TRADING:

What's fucked up stupid about this is that we have overeducated pinheads arguing that this isn't true.

The utter stupidity of experts on display, and they wonder why those of us who live in the real world laugh at their silly asses.

You should thank Ricter for enlightening you.

Pray tell, where is this enlightenment you speak of? If it's the hilarious "study" posted above where he says high levels of debt don't matter simply because they didn't seem to affect growth in the mere 5 year study, well then wow! What a shocking discovery!

Austerity hasn't even been implemented - despite various European countries claiming they have implemented it. They never cut back their spending, which is why they are missing their austere targets by so much.

+ 16.84 Trillion...

We've had credit cycles since the beginning of credit, booms then busts, over and over and over and over.

And a "very smart economist" tells us you can grow debt to the sky and it won't hurt growth. And it couldn't have escaped anyone's notice that this nonsense began as soon as a dem was elected. Same economist telling us debt was our ruination a few scant years before.

They know that the low iq voter will fall for anything that involves a free check.

Quote from JamesL:

What does Paul Krugman think he gains from his rudeness?

There is much to debate about liberal economist and New York Times writer Paul Krugman, but here are two facts that seem hard to argue with:

* Krugman is a very smart economist.
* Krugman’s debate style is uncivil and uncharitable.

When Krugman disagrees with people, he calls them names. If Krugman dislikes your policy proposals, and you make a mistake in your work, he is utterly unforgiving, uncharitable, and dismissive. And if you broadly align against Krugman on ideology, he’ll suggest your side is responsible for murder, he won’t read you, and then, in his trademark move of projection, he’ll call your side close-minded.

Here’s what baffles me about Krugman’s apparent antipathy towards those who disagree: Krugman himself is open-minded enough to change his mind on many issues (i.e., Krugman in 2003, “I’m terrified about what will happen to interest rates once financial markets wake up to the implications of skyrocketing budget deficits”). A guy who can hold two different positions over the course of time ought to realize that those holding differing opinions might not all be fools or liars.

But here’s the thing — I bet Krugman does realize he’s not simply arguing against fools and liars. After all, he’s smart.

I suspect Krugman’s incivility is a deliberate strategy. And this passage from an old Krugman post is why I think so [emphasis Krugman's]:

"I’m not saying to turn the other cheek and always say something polite as a general principle; by all means lash out at your critics, if you have something to gain by doing so. Rudeness at the proper moment can serve a purpose — as I hope I’ve demonstrated over the years. But if you vent for the sake of venting; if you alienate people you’re going to need; then you’re just being stupid."

So, when you see Krugman pinning murder on Tea Partiers, or getting nasty, don’t ask yourself, “Why can’t he argue like an adult?” Ask yourself, “Why is he choosing not to argue like an adult?”

That criticism is valid for a lot of people on both sides of most issues today. It's insincere to single the left and ignore the crudeness of many on the right including Fox News. And yes I know msnbc on the left is just as bad with Maddow being one of the worst offenders on either side IMO. MSNBC learned it from Fox who showed them that it could be profitable catering to the scared people of their respective party.

Outside of govt how anybody touting tooth-fairy economics doesn't get laughed out of the room is a mystery to me.
It's no longer fashionable to seek the truth. Promoting an agenda has replaced the truth as perpetual politics by liberal politicians has replaced governance. They have sucked in many economics and science professionals into their web of promoting an agenda instead of following the truth where ever it may lead.

If you think Bernanke is following bad policy at the Fed just wait until Obama appoints the agenda driven Larry Summers to the Chairmanship in January. (Assuming Obama is still around in January.)

Obammer will still be around. He's hell bent on ruling the World, and in addition, is teflon.

And yep, agenda's (on the left, of course), sure have replaced truth. Very sad state of affairs we have.

I had hopes he would be voted out last November but there were too many parasites voting for more free cake.

I hold out hope that the voters will wake up and realize they must take a stand against the tyranny and agenda driven leaders in government. The poison is flowing down the line from the top and the head must be cut off if the flow of poison is to be stopped and the country is to be salvaged.

I really believe America's gonna turn, and turn big time in voting after seeing what a tyrant and his gestapo are capable of inflicting on the greatest Country on Earth.
