You get span margin with an FCM. You want more then that? Span is risk based.

Deposit 200-300k, which is likely more than Patak has on tap with their clearing firm. Sounds like a well-conceived plan.

Hell, deposit 100k with IB and get portfolio margin and insurance.

Sure, I doubt the lower comms are worth the risk of no insurance....as we recents have been experiencing....

Huh? IB probably has far lower commissions then most the FCMs.
