That's just a feeling, which is not to dismiss it, but some objective measurements might be in order. How does one measure the size of government? If we look around for "best practices", how's the competition doing?
I'm all for listening to what best practices are in this category. But it used to be that WE had best practices. That is, after all, what allowed us to become the greatest nation on earth.
