Post this FACT in hundreds of trading forums, blogs, social media, etc... (there are software that can do that at warp speed): "Stock XYZ just closed above its 52-week high" and watch XYZ take off like a rocket...
Simple facts can and do move stocks, sometimes faster than simple rumors.
(Folks don't try this at home, it's just an example.)
Tesla went down right from the open by the way.

TOKYO (Reuters) -Japan's Panasonic Corp sold all of its stake in Tesla Inc last fiscal year which helped it earn billions of dollars in proceeds to fund new investments, the Nikkei business daily reported on Friday.
"The feud between the two companies has finally ended with the sale of these shares" Tomoyuki Goto, general counsel for Panasonic said. "We had tried to work with Mr. (Moonbeam) Musk for many years. His yelling, spitting, and lawsuits caused us to rethink our joint venture with Tesla Inc a few years ago." Mr. Goto went on to say "let Maxwell run with him...See how they enjoy that!!"
The windfall profits will be used by Panasonic to create strategic partnerships for their batteries in the EV, solar, and wind industries.
When asked for a comment about the sale of the shares, Mr. Musk was quoted as saying "My heart's in the highlands of Mars...My heart is not here".
"The Onion" was also a major contributor to this story.

Stocks tend to extent the move after breaching 52wk high always, whether it's written about or not.
I have a feeling you wouldn't be upset if some boring positive fact about TSLA would be talked about.
Surely Tesla doesn't have youtube and blog "viral" influencers under its payroll....surely.
True, but if you post some positive facts about XYZ stock (the new 52-week high in this example) in 100 trading forums/blogs/social-media now you have tens of thousands of traders looking at XYZ stock at the same time (because of you).
And if only 10% of these traders decide to buy XYZ what do you think will happen next, as far as XYZ's price is concerned...?
And remember, you didn't break any law, you just stated a simple fact about a certain stock.

10% is far off the curve. 1% is more realistic and that may be a sever overestimation of what it takes to balloon the stock.
Even 1% could represent 20% (or more) of the average daily volume of the stock.
