Surf, I have owned with my sister family a door man entry only beach front high rise condo in pompano for years..it may not be palm beach...but I suggest highly security...that is if you can afford it.
Florida for me is an escape from Connecticut winters..that's the only reason I go there.
My impression of Florida is a mix of lowlifes and old. The wealthy you think you will mingle with are only at the country clubs. You have to actively go in their social circles, otherwise you will not network properly.
I still think you will meet more and higher quality in Greenwich to Westport circles.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, I am going down there primarily to avoid the winter here--- will be giving it a try from September to July -- ocean front, doorman building is the only way to go, agree. Bottom line is i am sick of the cold, ice and snow. surf

I'm thinking about moving down to south FL in a year or so. No state income tax and warm weather year round are enticing. Some of you guys make it sound like it's a 3rd world country. LOL

Sounds like a great time. I wish it was a little later as I'm packing up the entourage and heading down your way in March.
Considering it's about -30 with windchill, I think any weather would be permitting for outside compared to here.
