Obama is fighting Palin currently I guess, that makes him look as stupid as these drivel thread people here on ET.

There were so many college students for Obama during the primaries. I'm thinking that lots of conservative youngsters had to sit in classrooms and get lectured by communists but they saw a way to screw over the Democrats and get Obama to shove Hillary off the stage. Currently I'm not even sure Hillary would be electable with Obama as VP. I think it also shows how narcissistic Obama is, he knows Hillary has a better chance to be elected and for his party's sake he could have taken the VP slot but the sucker took the big limelight path instead and now his party is not looking like the winner come November... oh well, they will still have the race card :D

Last June, at my son's college, there was a "political" lecture by a popular professor who wanted to encourage dialog among students. She asked how many of those present would be voting for McCain and TWO youngsters (my son and someone else) stood up. For Obama, the rest of the auditorium stood up.

Last week, same thing, about 40% of those present stood up for McCain/Palin (more women than men) and the rest for Obama.

Huge shift! Will they actually get to the polling place and vote? My son says that he will. We'll see.

If you went to where I grew up and asked those questions, the white people would stand for mccain, the blacks for obama. Period.

My point is that judging a politician by his following it pretty useless. Yea there are a lot of kids voting obama just because they think he's cool, but there are also a lot of rednecks voting for mccain because he's not obama. Pointless ignorance is rampant on both sides, so I ignore it.
 
Yet, more people are registered to vote this time than ever before and that's good. Let some of them vote for Obama because he's black or for McCain because he's not. Hopefully, next time, they'll have a better reason who to choose. We'll still have Dems and Repubs but the two parties will evolve and redefine themselves closer to the 50-50 line of equilibrium, like McCain and Obama are doing now. In the long run, that's progress.

It's not morally repugnant if you think the foetus is a separate living being. Killing a living being would, in that case, be the morally repugnant choice.

A hardcore atheist could agree with this position if it was for example 8 1/2 months into the pregnancy, when the foetus is basically a baby with an umbilical cord.

In that case, most of humanity is mentally ill. For 99% of our time on earth, almost everyone fervently believed the earth was flat. Even now after centuries of science and sceptical empiricism, the vast majority of people believe in God. Believing the earth is 6000 years old is no more insane than believing in an imaginary man in the sky, or that the earth is flat.

In a few months 285 million insane people will vote for which insane person to make their leader. 15 million sceptical independent thinkers will chuckle or sigh to themselves and get on with living amongst a society of gullible superstitious mental patients.
