I think a person needs to be somewhat mentally ill to make an attack on the family of a political figure. I just cannot get past the absolute disgust of attacking a family member of a political figure.
It is one thing if they choose to enter the political arena. Clearly the TEEN daughter was not a political participant.
The only type of person that would make an attack on a family member of a political figure is the type of person who themselves had a horrible family life. Losing or never having the importance of a solid family foundation would never provide this sick person with the experience of knowing how important a family is.
Contrast the ink Palin's daughter received to the son of Al Bore.
An 18yo getting knocked up (Obama was born to a 19yo) is hardly on the same plane as being arrested multiple times for DUI's and drug possession like Gore Jr. In an ironic way Obama was more of a law breaking 18 year old (coke, pot) than any behavior attributed to Bristol Palin.

Law school isn't high school. I doubt that
a. Columbia Law "ranks" graduates.
b. That they'd publicly release rankings if they do.
c. Or that Caroline would be any where near the top 15% of her class. Her father was a 117 IQ legacy into Harvard where he performed so-so and her brother failed the NY bar exam three times. Her uncle was expelled from Law School for cheating. The Kennedy clan are a lot of things-brilliant isn't one of them........

Most are dumb, a few are brilliant. This is something very very few know, but what they accomplished is nothing short of astonishing. Breaking into the highest power structures, getting a Kennedy as a president (one of the most popular ones) and into other political power positions is no easy task. They were and still are outsiders.
Ever wonder why their family is plagued with murders, accidental deaths & suicides? Hmmm.
