Pair Trading Strategy Journal

I installed the files directly under the management studio. Chose the server - mark Data Bases - right click - attache and then just mark the file and press add. Then you should be able to start PTF.

That did it! Whoopee!

Nothing intuitive about that solution!

Thanks a zillion. Everyone.

2 new trades;
Short PFE:NVS (I know there is a div comming.)
Short HON:NOC

I like the Short HON/NOC idea. Will be looking to put it on tomorrow unless they gap it too much. Thanks for the idea.

Looking to get involved in PFE, but pairing it with WYE to play the merger arb and squeeze out a few crumbs.

for a trading journal, there aren't many trading related posts here recently......

Skipped about 90% of my signals recently since all are about to report earnings within my time stop.

Here is an exception.

Bought NBR @16.76
Sold BPZ @6.89

NBR is reporting next thursday. So its also close but took the trade though.

Hi saico, if your trying to move a database to another pc, the way I did was to backup the database to my memory stick using management studio. Just click databases, right click on pairtradefinder or what ever you named it, and tasks, backup. It will ask you where at the bottom, just tell it where.

But then on the new machine, I couldn't install it because the database was already there after installing ptf and I was getting an error message that the database im trying to restore is a different one.

PTF told me to delete it so I did and then highlight databases, right click, tasks and restore.

It should restore the database from the other pc to your new one... It worked for me.

Could not resist. OUT PFE:NVS

nothing like a little bit of luck. =)

could go against you....viagra trials in sickle cell patients were stopped today, hence the weakness. nice trade either way, but this wasn't reversion to the mean, rather news event in favor.

luckily over the long run you get enough for you and against you not to matter.
