I am curious you seem to be short bonds most of the time, do you think bond prices have peaked. Looks like the curve is straightening out a bit. I miss stuff like this all the time. I just watched GOOG drop ten bucks and reverse about the same, caught a small chunk, beats losing.

I haven't been long Bonds for anything beyond a scalp this decade. I'm stuck with a portfolio (unbreakable trust) of Treasuries that I keep at around a 1-3 year duration.
I think the two decade plus deflationary era is over. I see food shortages, persistent high energy prices regardless of the U.S. economy and a market that will view fiat currencies with devastating suspicion. I believe the easing cycle is over. IMO history will judge Ben Bernanke as the architect of the dollars ultimate collapse as the worlds reserve currency. We now live in Brazil.......

Luckily the democrats will be able to reverse that by putting windfall profits taxes on oil companies. LOL.
I tend to agree with your macro view. Other than short bonds and short dollar, how would you position yourself?

before it gets too expensive you could put up some windmills up there and when /if a rough decade comes around you'll have food and electricity/10 thousand lakes, you must have water, and u mght go a little closer to iowa, same land just not as coldQuote from Pa(b)st Prime:
It's not a trade per se' AAA but if there's one thing I'm going to do soon it's buy farm land. My Dad was a casulty of the 1986 farm crisis so I've been nervous about paying up. IMO there's no doubt we're going to see a contuinued trend of acerage prices converging with residential. Wouldn't it feel good to know if there's food riots that you own 100 acres in southern Minnesota?

Have you been to Brazil, Pa(b)st. Spent a month there last summer. Pretty kool place. Can't wait to get back. Definitely less of a police state than the US, but more chaotic, less regulated.. Beautiful country.

Did pabst die? I heard on the radio yesterday on my way to school that a chicago native died and was burried with pabst blue ribbon beer in the casket (no joke).
