Historically in the US and currently in several other countries infanticide is practiced for “practical” reasons such as limited food supply. It is my understanding that currently in some parts of China and perhaps India, girl babies are much more likely to be killed than boy babies. If it’s any consolation, domestic Leftists that practice infanticide will keep their group from growing than as fast as it would otherwise. As a further bonus, increased gender ambiguity may also help keep Leftist populations in check.

Also, and this is not a smartass comment, I raise it as a serious constitutional issue.
ie. last I knew a baby born alive was also known as "an American citizen" entitled to equal protection of the law and full application of emergency or regular medical resources to preserve the life of the child. According to what legal argument is child born alive not a freestanding American citizen entitled to protection from abuse from a parent still trying to kill him or her?
The sponsors of this bill testified that the law would allow the mother to direct the medical types (can bring myself to say "health care provider" here) to just let the child die if born alive or rather direct that that child shall die. Hello, that child is an independent American citizen at that point, entitled to a guardian ad litem or other resources to protect his/her interests independent of what the mother's interests might be. Maybe she will be depressed because her new boyfriend does not like babies in the house or something. Too fucking bad. The child has independent interests.
Also, the lefties argue that you are forcing something on to the mother's body, whatever. That is a crock. Gonna get grim here for a minute, but at that late stage they inject lethal drugs into the child and then the mother later delivers a stillborn baby so if the mother is required to let the child live, it creates no further burden on her body than to deliver a stillborn baby.
Good gravy, what's next? Approving a trial period for newborns, with right to cancel anytime before kindergarten? Yeh, I know. The Wall is immoral and the lefties are the guardians of morality.

I agree, so long as Trump can capitalize it in the right manner. But he has shown himself unable to do so with regularity, so who knows what will actually happen.
