I have friends that just a week ago, were sentenced to 12 and 14 years in FED Pen (which there is no parole), get this, for reporting false data to Platts for monthly gas indices. This activity was not just widespread, it was the normal course of business as some reported bogus data to offset the others who reported bogus the other way and in the end, the indices largely came out where they would have had nobody been bogus. Nobody at that time thought it was illegal. Unethical, sure but everyone tried to counter Enron and the likes.

Montgomery Co. deputies locate missing murder parolee

Authorities have located a paroled murderer, diagnosed with manic depression and schizophrenia, who was missing for nearly a week and a half after abruptly leaving his mother's home in Magnolia, officials said.
Patrol units with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office located David McIntyre, 41, today. At this time, the details as to where he was found have not been released.
McIntyre was last seen about 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 at his mother's home in the 26000 block of Hardin Store Road, where he had been living since 2007 following his release from prison, authorities said. He was convicted in 1990 for the 1986 shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.
McIntyre's mother told investigators she heard him talking in his room shortly before he disappeared and believed that he had been off his medication for about two to three weeks prior to his disappearance.
Another family member told sheriff's investigators that McIntrye was overheard on the phone saying, âI have to get out of here tomorrow. I'm going to see my parole officer and they are either going to put me in jail or find some place for me.â
McIntyre and Ty Paul were charged with murder in the January 1986 shooting death of Tommy D. Sides.
Saying he had a guilty conscience over his role in the slaying, McIntyre confessed in late 1990. He led sheriff's detectives to a spot of land near his mother's home where the teenager was buried.
McIntyre was sentenced to 20 years in prison in September 1990. In January 2000, McIntyre was released on mandatory supervision â similar to parole. He was returned to prison in October for an unknown violation of the release terms that didn't result in additional criminal charges filed against him, Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials said.
He remained in prison until November 2007, when he was again released on mandatory supervision.
