Originally posted by bungrider I just can't believe that people were stupid enough to vote for W. Whenever I met someone who voted for him, I'd ask why, and they'd be like "well, I didn't like that Gore..." Nobody could ever give me a good reason for making W president. They thought they could trust him. I'll puke if he gets re-elected.
Since 1951, our country has been saddled with the potential fall out from Amendment 22 establishing the two term limit. Save for this, it would have been a Clinton landslide against Bush or whover the Republicans launched.
Once you get away from the hardcore voters of both parties, I think many hated both Gore and Bush and had to hold their noses and vote for the one they least detested.
What a miserable selection, I thought anyway.
Looking ahead, I'm afraid the same thing could happen again. A mealy Daschle and Bush, weak like his father. The best and the brightest just ain't getting sent up the line in either party. In most cases, it's probably on account of the generational thing - most of us can't pass background checks, especially on prior drug use.
