Our 400,000 Trade Test Proves Using Stops Is Not Very Bright

Stop loss orders are absolutely essential to trading. It's just a simple universal truth that cannot be argued against effectively. The ability to place stops correctly is an art however. Most are unable to do this and therefore say that stop losses are no good. Investing however is a different matter and those using a Kramer Frutes type of strategy will find themselves down in a big way until markets turn in their direction unless they are employing wide diversification and thus losses are small that way.

If he could actually trade, a big "IF", he would trade more and squawk less...
What needs to be remembered here is that individual you are referring to is not a trader and does not trade (anymore). --Rather, he plays more long term such as investing.

"Some systems need no stops?"

In trading? No that is incorrect.

I just mentioned the theoretical possibilities. But I have already seen a system that does not need a stop as there are built in indicators that react so fast that they function as stop.
HFT never uses stops I think.... And that's also trading a system.

I guess you rather extrapolate from your own experience... ;-)

And: with such provacative postings I think you violate the ET privacy terms...
And: on top of that, you are off-topic

Thanks for the support, botpro. Mental illness and gonzo jealousy run deep in this business (unfortunately).

Rather than attack the idea I presented, backed by 100's of tests, the gonzo hate vibers who clearly have never gained any traction and are very angry, attack me personally.

It's very sad

They are nothing but digital scum!... ;-)

If you think they violate any rules, or are off-topic, then just report it,
or file a formal complaint with evidence, privately and/or publicly --> problem will be solved... ;-)

Can you prove what you say? Give the name of the study or a link to it. Can't you? Who is the real liar?

I'm just a normal user concerned about your despicable methods to publicly badmouth a person. Nothing more, nothing less.

There's something deeply irrational about that poster. It may be smart to just put them on ignore.
