Other Markets to Trade -Evening Hours

Quote from Mr.Bling-Bling:

The Bund is the most liquid interest product on Eurex. It opens 11 pm west coast- 2 AM east coast. Commission also very good.

Enjoy the action-----1000 lots taken at a time.

What time does it end trading - on the West Coast and East Coast?

Quote from BlueHorseshoe:

US citizens can trade absolutely anything and everything.

The CFTC restricts US RESIDENTS' trading of certain overseas futures and options contracts.

Just to clarify .... them be facts.

man oh man, do i love this great nation!

Quote from def:

BlueHorseshoe got it right about US citizens and trading. if you are a US resident you need to trade CFTC approved products. HSI (HK), N225, TOPX (japan), SPI (australia) are offered via IB and all are CFTC approved...if you trade via IB, you can request to be placed on the HK server and avoid the nightly reset. It will become less of an issue later this month with the change from daylight savings time.

finally, this just in.... GBL, GBM, GBS (german bond 10/5/2yr) futures AND futures-options are now available for US customers via IB. These futures are the biggest traded contracts in Europe. We will offer the options as well.

def & BlueHorseshoe,

thanks for the info.

def,

will IB be offering any french, hong kong, or aussie stocks & options for trading? i am not a futures guy, nor do i desire to be.

also, if you guys do offer more stocks (like from the above 3 markets) would you focus on finding a market that doesn't have those BS extra taxes like UK and swiss stocks do? :D

thanks,
-b

...Therefore, under the rule amendment, if the underlying foreign exchange-traded futures product (including futures on stock indices and on foreign government debt) may be offered or sold in the United States, the foreign option based on that futures contract may be offered or sold as well without further action."

We're looking at additional cash markets (you wouldn't be allowed to trade stock options due to the US restrictions). We could offer HK tomorrow but the cost of additional throughput, supplying data (they protect the data vendors and fail to see the big picture), and don't make it very interesting.

Quote from wavetrader:

Sorry, momotrdr. Don't quite understand TS @ EC.

Also, do you know what the symbol is for Euro FX? What exchange does it trade on? Is it the same as USD/CAD?

Thanks.

On the TradeStation platform, the symbol for EURO FX is @EC ,
for the continous contract.

This would be great but the problem seems to be the cost of commissions in some of these places makes trading almost prohibitive.

With so much anger at NYSE specialists, the US market fee structure remains *very* competitive in comparison to the rest of the world.
