IMHO, we need to get past the personalities and crazy comments.
How can we prove, factually, that OSTK short interest is above what DTC holds? Thats the real issue here.
Can anyone supply the actualy links to facts? I'd truly like to see them because thats the number that will drive buy-ins, and I want to be long when it happens.

I have always assumed that "flytiger, ratboy" and Byrne are all the same person.
Funny thread. Reminds one of the old Bre-X gold mine scam, LOL

Yeah. It is kind of "strange" how Herb and Cramer and some of the other CNBC wags keep "spinning" the idea that the whole deal is just OSTK trying to squash ANY short selling and talking down of their company. They NEVER seem to mention the legality question of failure to deliver.Quote from ratboy88:
for me that is the whole story.... locate and deliver the shares. do that and i will put this dog to sleep. is it utah and Ct that is going after the DTCC??? funny how cnbc does not mention this and keeps the illegal nakeds out of the discussion.

This reminds me of Jeff Skilling calling an analysis an "asshole" for asking questions regarding Enron's profits. Of course, Skilling is now pre-occupied trying to stay out of the Federal pen for stock fraud.
Don't be surprised if Overstock is a giant fraud, phantom sales, phantom inventory, shipping empty boxes, etc etc. The entire situation smells funny.
A real circus, LOL
Just a bemused observer
