I haven't been watching it that closely the last few weeks but the one thing that has remained fairly consistent for a few months now is that it takes very little volume to move the stock a significant amount (which implies that the float of shares being traded is as tight as PB has been saying). If the short squeeze does ever happen or better still, if OSTK comes out with some positive news of sales and earnings the stock will fly.
I think that there is some scam going on with the manipulation of the stock price in conjunction with the underlying options and that some one is making a ton of money trading OSTK. More than likely naked shorting is one of the tools involved though not necessarily by the same people that PB is accusing of being involved in the long term naked shorting. One more cycle and it should be obvious what the game is.
This could also be a very cleverly orchestrated set up to cause some people some major pain, possibly for something completely unrelated to OSTK the company. Then again maybe I am just too creative in my thinking.
I thought that we would have had some more answers by now but hopefully we will know more of the truth in the 1st half of 06.
