don't go anywhere. They'll be two thousand more, implicating some pretty big names in the business. You'll see some of these bullshit artists bragging about the killings they were making on our dime. At the same time, the SEC would time these bastards off on where they were going next. The transcripts actually have phone numbers of SEC guys. All the people you saw in the PBS story know it.

Now, six, seven years later, they run five times the money, and basically do the same thing.

Overstock has:

2. Zero Revenue growth
3. Zero margin growth

How can anyone justify owning this stock, even if it were priced at $8?

For the millionth time, that is not the argument. But the planned destruction of companies for illegal profits is.

Please! Go back and read the thread and some of the others, so you know what we're talking about.

But it is inherent in your argument that the prices of these companies are too low because of naked shorting. So the points that the previous poster brings up are in fact valid to this whole discussion.

how is this a planned destruction? the company loses money. the shares in this company are worthless.

a company may experience a falling stock price because of a reduction in profits, but a company does not experience a reduction in profits because of a falling stock price

This is why "shorts" are good for the market.....they attack the weak companies and "cull" the herd down...

I can not think of any PROFITABLE company that shorts have damaged.....

A well managed, adequately capitalized, intelligent business plan company that is making money doesn't care about shorts, naked or with long pants.....

I remember David Tice of the Prudent Bear Fund, Dallas, constantly talking about TYCO as being a huge scam.....LOL...he was right.....the numbers simply did not add up.....

Now the market is made of bulls/bears that disagree on valuation....but that is different than companies that just don't make any profits at all.....and have no apparent prospects of doing so...

So, Flytiger/Byrne, just accept that fact and get out of OSTK and move on to something else....

Exactly.

Nobody is stupid enough to short a company out of existence if the company is profitable. This would be suicide.

I'm honestly surprised that this stock is holding up at 16. I still think a short is the right play

If you owned, DELL, AMZN, EBAY, so many others in the period of 1999, 2000, you lost money. You'll soon see why. Read the paper above, and you'll see why illegal shorting, or, in many cases, selling mismarked longs, are deadly to many companies.

No more stupid comments. If you want to argue the dark side, present facts, papers, statistics......... I'm tired of these stupid games. I'm giving results, you guys are trying to sell emotion.
