Organize against IB

Quote from LongShot:

if you REALLY wanted to leave IB you'd do it quietly without a big hullabaloo but you want to stay

So, when you say that you are cleaning the markets and start a new pointless thread just about it, you are saying so because you are actually a loser. Well, I was sure about it anyway, but one more evidence is always welcome.

Now, for those who can think logically: if so many people at the same time in different places report the same problem then it means that the things are correlated and so we might suspect the same cause or at least this is more likely than that the connection went down in many places at the same time completely independently.

Yea well my "junk" is oversized and seldom fails, where apparently your "junk" is sub-standard :p

I want to make the system better for everyone!

That the only motive that I have.

Right now 33% of the respondents think it sucks bad enough to stage a walkout. Its going to be interesting to see how this pans out

Furthermore, if the TWS system worked for me, I wouldn't even be concerned with this poll. Consequently, if TWS is so great why would you even care what we do, much less get your drawers in a bind over it.
:D

I certainly have had my share of problems with TWS, however what bugs me is that no people, that use other brokers, come forward and make a case for theirs. Does everybody use IB or what?

Once I was whining about a bad fill or some such to a trader friend of mine who at the time had made it over the "hump" while I was still struggling. He made a comment that was very simple yet stuck with me as one of the keys to finally becoming profitable - "take responsibility for your trading". All this whining and bitchin' about IB is rediculous. If you feel IB is not acceptable for your trading requirements then "take responsibility", find another that suits your style and do something positive to address the problem and move on. I don't think that promoting these "IB is the devil" threads is of any value whatsoever to anyone. Sounds to me like misplaced frustrations of some sort.

How do you know if their floor brokers are any good if you've never used them?
I don't know form first-hand experience yet, but I spoke with a couple of people that use them and neither had anything bad to say.

If many traders are getting turned off at the same time, its probably not a problem with the trader's software.

Then what else could it be? Would IB intentionally turn some of their servers off, so we would have to call in to close our trade? Do they charge you the full fee when this happens?
