In the chicago office. If you ask for 500,000, you will be laughed at. They will give you at most an offer of 130,000 base. That is if you are within 10-15,000 at your current company. If you aren't working, then don't expect a bump in salary.

Thanks for the reply. But what I ment was: How many questions do you have to answer correctly in order to pass the first test.

Is it true that you get a penalty for evry skipped question?

Any of the people working at the firm now able to shed light on their IT policy and hiring practices, and their renumeration? From what I've heard about the Optiver's IT salaries, I'm not all that impressed. A$100k isn't that great, especially not in Sydney.

Do IT people go through the same interview format as traders? At the moment I've got more questions to ask the interviewers than they can have to ask me...

In addition to DennisF, look up username govind.salinger and nathanos (May 28th entry) for test simulators. There ought not be any 6-digit by 6-digit calculations on the actual test but there is slightly less intense "stuff" that can slow you down. :cool:

Can anybody tell me how to prepare for a Programmer/Analyst Aptitude test ( Brain bench exam). I have no clue what to expect from this exam and how to prepare.

1st test is a paper one...but some people proceed to 2nd/3rd test straight after the 1st one and some on the other day? Are they calculating your marks on site?

can anybody tell how the 2nd and 3rd tests are like? and any good practice?

Also do we have interview on the same day after all the tests?

Is the following simulator here the same difficulty with Optiver's?
