options - why can't i have bid and offer on the same contract?

That reminds me of a guy on a Yahoo message board. For some reason, he wanted to be long and short the same stock at the same time. Not sure what good that would do, but I mentioned that if he really wanted to, he could do that by having 2 accounts.

The truth is I'm not looking to be long and short the same option.

But, with two different accounts, I don't have the same positions in each. Sometimes I'm long a call/put in one account and short it in another because of the specific iron condor positions I own.

tos allows it and you don't even need to request it. you don't need to do tricky things like use multiple accounts either
