Options trading approval at Ameritrade

Open an account with a different broker. You should not have to supply proof of option trades from a previous broker to trade options.

The numbers you used should be OK.

Thanks. I hope the numbers are okay as you stated. Yes, this was TD Ameritrade that told me to supply a statement of records from my previous brokers. It was one of the representatives

  • Your application must have raised some red flags.
  • Normally you just fill in the info and nothing has to be verified (for option trading - I don't know about futures).
  • Try Interactive Brokers or re-apply at TD.

Well I called them and then she mentioned that I might have to supply a statement that could help great privileges. I don't think it's completely required. But they didn't call me after I applied to ask additional questions or anything like that. The rep over the phone don't review the applications, right?

I've been getting the usual Level 2 options buying approval runaround from TD Ameritrade. The thing is I can't afford to wait 90 days to reapply. I got approved without problem at tastyworks, where option buying is standard, and it's obviously a cool place to be.

I am glad they are doing that quiz thing for Approval. Thats a good idea. My brokers (TD and Etrade) never had a quiz back when I opened the accounts

Thank for the replay ,
the problem is that i do not know what to change in the application form in order to get approved , last time i marked:

1. Annual Income: 25,000-49,999$ .
2. Approximate Net Worth: 250,000-4999,999$ .
3. Approximate Liquid Net Worth: 100,000-249,999$.
4. Funds Available for options trading : 20,000-49,999$ .
5.Years of Investmenet Experience: 10+.
6. Investmenet Knowledge: Proffesional Trader.
7. Average Transaction size: under 1000$ - may be this is the problem?
8. Number of transaction per year: 50+.
9. Type of transactions(options,Bonds,Stocks): options.
10. Objective(Growth,Speculation,Income,ConservationOfCapital):Income - may be this also the problem?
11

and for all of that i got deny , I have no idea what to change may be u do????

You misspelled Professional and thats where they caught you, Anyhow you should have put speculation.
Anyhow this is what I put on my account.
