Thank-you for your reply, I sincerely acknowledge your vast respect for this gentleman. Please note, I have read that extraordinary novel and shall read it subsequently until I understand it thoroughly. I simply required someone with adequate knowledge to answer my question, which by the way has been already completed, and may I mention it was certainly not from Mr. Morse. As Mr. Morse only provided literature to divert me to promotional material. Please note, it is never my intention to ask a question unless I have great difficulty in answering it. Thus, I came to this website and received the answer. I understand the despair you carry with reading my prior comments and can only hope you are not perversely impacted by it. I wait for your wounds to recover.

The only reason I am here is to learn how to be a better trader from some of the true professionals on ET, none of what anyone said to me will affect me emotionally one way or another.

My humble suggestion to you is you should value the general guidance more so than if someone spoon fed you your answer. The general guidance will be much more helpful to you in building your overall trading strategy & methodology. What will make you a lot of money is if you are able to develop a general methodology that fits you situation and circumstances.

And this from Mr. Morse to you is profound and priceless:

You should only look at your side of the trade as you have no idea what the other side did to hedge or not. For your trade, you are making the assumption the stock will not move.

I did respond to your question. Your question, the way you asked it, had no correct answer. Based on the way you asked it, I felt it was best to recommend further education. If you were insulted by that, it was not my intent. If I wanted to promote Lightspeed Trading to you, I would not have done that with a link to education. If you are going to get anything out of this forum, I suggest you don't fight back so intensely. All you will do is make others want to not help.

Again, my intent was not promotion, which I do do often as a sponsor here, but to offer help.

I have deleted prior posts as I don't want to damage the reputation of this community and of course our reputable college Robert Morse, who I admire greatly and who has taught me over the years to be a successful trader and a valuable player in many respects. Lightspeed has always been a fabulous broker with many pros beyond trader expectation. I naturally desire this consistency both in trader dialogue and broker passion.

Sometimes the best answer to questions like yours is simply "read." The first part of your question is a very foundational piece of understanding options (breakeven for a long call), and there's so many great books (McMillan, Natenberg, Hull) already written that already explain these concepts way better than anyone here can.

This forum is incredible for the amount of knowledge and experience its members have (including Bob), but you're better off reading the first 10 pages of any options book ever written.
