Options on futures & IB

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're American, you can't trade European options.

I assumed that you could because it is in the product list in IB. Let me double check ,thanks for the heads up.

I believe the SEC rule is that Americans can trade options on futures but not overseas equity options or equity index unless you are a qualified invester (100 million - not a typo). You can trade some options on futures as they fall under the jurisdiction of the CFTC.
