Options Assignment While on Vacation

If:
I am short cash secured or stock secured options
and I don't care if I get assigned
and I do get assigned while on vacation

Then is there anything I need to do? Is any interaction with broker required?
Also are there any extra costs related to assignement?

Nope. If you have enough cash so that you don't get a margin call upon assignment of your puts, there's nothing you have to do. There is a brokerage commission cost for the assignment.
