Platinum changed in 2005. They now update prices several times during the trading day (at least 3 times I believe).
So, its not realtime but it is better than just EOD.

I agree with everything you say, but Platinum is now more than just a couple hundred dollars. As of 1/1/06, the annual subscription is now $795. Still, I agree, a good deal for what you get and there are discounts for renewing customers.

i'd like to thank wd40 and everyone who took time to respond to my question.
The problem is that it takes time to find out more about one software or the other. Another thing that is worring me is that after I buy the software I need to set it up and of course Otionetics will be happy to help with their "ICT" class at the cost of $ 5000. I tried to find someone at their Los Angeles Seminar, but the more advanced student are not really interested in helping to set up a software for someone new and they don't care about splitting the costs and share the software.
Someone told me...if I do you will see all my trades...so what ? Like I will make money just because he is trading something.
I guess I'll get the software and when I am tired of wasting my time I'll take the expensive class to learn how to use it.
I know one could learn how to use Platinum from the website but come on, the class alone takes three entire days if I have to learn from the webiste it will take much longer than that.
This entire process of having to learn how to use the software really sucks, I don't mind to take time to learn the strategies, but $ 5000 to learn how to use the software is unfair and I am sure Optionetics knows that if you don't learn it you will lose much more than $ 5000 when buying options blind in the market.

if you think ICT is unfair, they have a Master ICT course, which is another 3 days and another $5k !!!
From their website, I can see the courses are always full, some locations even have waiting lists. I don't ever recall hearing any complaint from the graduates. I will let you figure that out.

What's in that course? I've never seen it but I bet it is only what you can simply get out of an Excel Spreadsheet, $100 worth of McMillan (and/or Natenberg, Cottle, etc,) an IB account to test strategies (with very small size at first), and possibly a $70 option risk graph program - all stuff you should have anyway.

Wait a minute here. What the hell are you spending 5k for? Seriously. Look, forget about this platinum stuff and Advanced Get nonsense. You are not going to make dime off of that. If you want to understand options, do this. First read "Fundamentals of the Options Markets" by Mike Williams and Amy Hoffman. Then read "Option volatility and Pricing" by Sheldon Natenburg. Read those books 2 or 3 times. Then get yourself a simple excel based app until you can afford to move up to an Optionvue or something similar. BTW, I own and use Optionvue. I am just shocked at how freely people are willing to seperate themselves with 5k. People think!!!!!!!!

I agree with M74 on the reading part. There is no escape from the basics. Just like music, you can learn to play by ear and play a few entertaining tunes at the parties. But if you are serious and want to do well in trading, you need to study now and build a solid understanding of the basics. Natenberg is a must, it is the foundation of all your future endeavours. I can cite a few more books, but I think these few will keep you enthralled for a while.
