Optimum number of Monitors ?

None of these people trade - they are all high school or college students at best, trading their $200 forex account, probably during class while taking Computer Science 101. Either that, or they only come accross as really young and inexperienced because I guarantee you traders they are not.

You can trade with one monitor, or with sixteen monitors. It all depends on your needs.

Livermore was the first screen trader. Even though he was a member he traded from his office. One wall of the office had large windows in it which looked at a chalkboard. The chalkboys had open phone lines direct to the floor and they got the latest prices.

The effect was that Jesse was looking at a giant screen. Today, Jesse would trade upstairs and probably would use one large screen which had the wide, letterbox dimensions.

Although the home setup Tom Cruise's character had in Minority Report was the coolest. It was a combination of large screens and small notebook sized screens all arranged on a framework style stand to give a customized view of the data he wanted. I wish they'd sell screens with more variety in sizes and I'd like to get that framework style monitor rack.

None of the people that say none of the people here trade, actually trade.

They live in a rented trailer and logon from the public libraries, probably under contract with the advertisers to improve their hit rates. They use their pennies to buy time at an internet cafe or get a good cup of coffee so that they can hang out at the bookstore and read free magazines to get ideas adn quotes to post here.

Too bad they never trade. Of course if they did they would publicly post their trading records, broker statements, trading algorithms ......

But since they dont, they aren't traders:

There is a group of 6 monitors with a total of 24 graphs all messed up with indicators, trendlines and what more and they are ticking.
And there is another group of 2 with a total of 3 instruments and without indicators. They are not eye catchers.
I use the last group for trading.
The purpose of the first group of monitors is merely for showing-off. They do the job pretty well I must say. They are cool and they look professional. Very professional.
But I never even glance at them.
