Opposite of covered calls?

Quote from TMTrader:

The rules are set by the exchanges not by the brokers. So you can look all you want, any broker who wants to stay in business will follow these rules. The PDT goes for all of the exchanges instruments, stocks and options alike.

TM Trader

TM,

I'm not an expert on the laws but within the last few months I set up a backup account with broker who explicitly states in their application forms that PDT rules do not apply to options.

I initially only put 5K in while checking them out and practicing their platform. During this period, I was able daytrade options with no restrictions.

The broker shall remain nameless for obvious reasons....

No, firm capital; no outside investors ...

Opposite of selling calls is buying puts.

Never... shorting option equals buying option. As long as time and volatility value is present.
