I post it here because actually I am simultaneously looking for data for both $SPX and the option on that...
I signed up for Opentick today. And I used its sample CSV Historical
data downloader to download historical data.
I am surprised to find that OpenTick does not have S&P500 index data
back into 2005 or earlier.

CO /s $SPX 05/1/2005 16:00 06/1/2005 17:00 /tm /o daily 1

And then the CSV file was empty.
What was the problem?
Any other better reliable data source?
I am willing to pay a fee if there is a hassle-free solution in the
long run for reliable and good quality data sources...
