I may be done trading OPGs. I will trade this month expiration day and may or may not come back on september.
Got a little sutck yesterday (my fault, did not check MCD). down about 7 cents net.
Good and quick today. HPQ and DD + 19 cents.
I'm being a bit extra cautious because of the boot campers. I believe all but one made money today on the openings... I'll post their numbers for their first week on Friday.

Absolutely...and there have been so many changes in how we address the MOC imbalances. We use 2 columns on our Redi platform, one with the "Regulatory Imbalances" (3:40 and 3:50 dissemination), next to the 30 second updates of shares imbalance column. We have spreadsheets to immediately pop up numbers based on percentage of average daily trading volume, etc. Auto execution if you want it. We try to trade in and out during the first 10 minute time frame, re-adjust at that time. then, based on what we see, we either take profits before the bell, or place an offsetting MOC order at that time.
First and last hours are very important to our traders.

Not generally...the OPG's, leveraged ETF scalping, pairs then probably Imbalances. However, watching the imbalances can really help your overall trading at end of day.

MOC trading has been mostly dead for the past few months. OPG hasn't been great either. Especially not the Opening reversal method. Was wondering how your firm and trader is adjusting to this?
I was wondering about your Redi trading platform. Especially your use of spreadsheet. For our firm using spreadsheet has completely slow down the server. Wondering how you guys handle spreadsheet issues. Thanks.

The openings have always tended to go in streaks over the years. I emphasize consistency. Our guys have added more stocks and are more are going fully automated (with manual over-ride of course). I use both of our opening spreadsheets, and haven't really had any problems. My retracement orders go in within a second or two, and that seems to be making a big difference. Several have gone with the automated trailing stops as well (I choose not to, just a persona choice). The more automation that my teams come up with seems to be really helping. Adapt adapt adapt I guess, that never seems to change.
As I mentioned above, the whole MOC imbalance play has changed to being more of a trading time period vs. a strict MOC (placing actual MOC order) type of technique.
(Obviously)... as traders mature, they visualize their trading structure differently.... making it easier for them to "see" what and when to take part in the various
time frames/events/techniques/strategies etc. Observation and record keeping are paramount in this business. If something isn't working for you, then alter your approach... find what is working. My guys who "always" make money no matter what, seem to have the ability to naturally adapt to changes in various trading options.
