For me, it's all across the board. Some are 1:1, some losses are only 0.01-0.03 cents. But others are very big losers. In stat terms, I have a negative skewness on my P/L. This means probability of a big loss is bigger than probability of a big winner. I put limit take profit si I can't make more than 1% per stock on the positive side. I have no stops so on the negative side I can go down fast before I get out. But the big losses can be "avoided" by being cautious on the news. But shit still happen. Last month I had one trade that trimmed 1/2 my profit of the month. It was mostly due to bad news reading plus I doubled down and all. We call it operator glitch. tilted. So I would say, in my case, the worst case that happens is losing something like 2 dollars on a stock and I make an average of 0.03-0.07 net per share.Quote from jones247:
what's the risk:reward on opening orders? (i.e. Is one loss often equivalent to about 5 wins?)
