Opening Orders - 2008

12 bootcampers with fills this morning. Old record was 282 pennies....today was 786 pennies, abolutely amazing.

And me, well, uh, 3 fills for 32 cents, LOL.

Yes, a great day for openings....look out for Monday, LOL.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Short T at 30.55 covered at 30.31. No fills on GE PFE HD.

You might tighten up GE, I manually over-ride to assure a fill if even 12 cents away.

FWIW,

Thanks Don. I am curious how to account for the premarket trades. GE seemed to have a few trades at 28.15 around 9.11am. GE seems so friendly to me I get suspicious lol. I was thinking I try to err on the side of "by the book" calculations and then as I get a feel for what I can really know from experience, then adjust.

I am looking now at the average range of my opening stocks in their first 3 minutes of the day. The idea is that if in fact I have been filled with the specialist to serve his market needs, I ought to be at one extreme of this average range. Therefore I can expect that I will see some prices and not see others. If I see something unexpected then I have some information to use. Eventually I would like to use this tactic with automated exits over a wider range of stocks.

One thing I have learned in trading is patience.

Just remember "slingshots" and "shakeouts" - GE opened at .09 and traded up to .20 approx very quickly, that's the "slingshot" allowing the Specialist to make some money, and us too if we're in quickly enough.

A week later... my spreadsheet is fixed. I hope so. We used to say, dont get excited yet.
