Opening Orders - 2008

4 fills, 2 long winners, 2 short winners. 0.15 average.
Endured a major drawdown on ABX but held and it paid off.
Havent get filled on GE with an order to buy at 28.59 and it opened at 28.56. Maybe I sent it too late?

Just wondering how you made quick dollar on AVP this morning. It opened up at 39.52 and that was the low of the day.

...unless you bought at open instead of short?

You gotta get NYSE quotes, not consolidated.

From my Redi machine.

SS 500 AVP opening only at 39.79 (initial order) 9:21 AM
Sold Short 500 AVP $41.95 on limit (opening price).

Bought back at $41.10..."coulda" had 40.92, but I thought that was only 3 cents, not $1.03.

Good cover however, it really ran back up.

Back at it tomorrow....

29 cents on EK, 8 cents on GE. Still trading manually, took out so many I think I had 8 left this morning....LOL.

New computer, new Redi Platform, new auto opening only program.... I can't wait to test it all out. I'll set up new stuff for Monday, add to my list etc. I'll let you know.

Finishing 2nd week of boot camp tomorrow. About half will go home then, the other half will stay another couple of weeks. I'll post up opening info here at some point.

Got filled GE buy at 28.52, sold at 28.67 for +.15. Can someone let me know if 28.52 was the GE specialist opening? I sure can't tell from my platform lol. I don't even think at the end of the day the NYSE website has the specialist opening price, I've been checking that at night. Maybe this lack of info tho for a retail trader like me is one reason this edge works, besides needing lots of buying power.

It's the right price.

No!

You can get this info as a retail customer. Never forget there is no free lunch on the street. There are risks involved IMO.

When I was in New York last month, I lobbied Goldman/Redi to add fields in our global Redi platform so that we will have both the Primary Market pricing and Consolidated pricing. So, going forward with next Redi version we will have both fields. This will put our automatic programs back to "fool proof" hopefully, at least opening, closes, MOC's etc.

FWIW,

Don
