One of those days today where nothing really wanted to cooperate. Luckily I was mostly filled on small test positions.

1 long scratch on a test position, 4 short (3 losers and a win, all but one a test position), -476, 3400 shares

To both of you, if you had waited to the third five minute bar, it seems like you would have at worst broken even?

I bet you $ Don waited a bit and escaped a little less worse, unless he is still holding short.

i did make money...+599.00

however if i had waited i could have pulled in slb for a scratch...but would have given up gains on the others....disipline told me i had to close when i did...

when i build up more cushion i will wait longer if prudent

That's the real trick, isn't it? Waiting could get you back even, or it could double your losses (or worse). Today I did wait, and it didn't matter.

Right, although there was resistance at 1362.50 SPX so it was worth waiting on pure odds.

Interesting that you waited and it did not make a difference. What SPX level was it when you pressed the eject button?

LOL....9:47 for last cover.

As I've stated before, I post the "pure" opening trades, but since often times I get filled on my core stocks (children), I may dive back in. If I sell at .50, cover at .40 approx, I may resell at .60 or higher (like BMY today).

The world doesn't end with the opening trade, as always just a good way to start the day.

All the best,

Don
