Opening Orders - 2008

Geez, what a "non-event" LOL. 2 fills, basically flat. Oh well, Russell next Friday, yea! Maybe today's MOC's will be good.


Blackjack tournament in Laughlin this weekend, final table Monday, I'll probably be back here Monday....

Surprisingly, I had more fills today than I have had in a long time. I maxed out on my max limit per sector across most sectors. Only 1 loser, and a few that I should have let ride a lot longer. Too bad it's only 1/3rd the regular size cause of a disappointing month with the opens so far.

So I'm surprised to hear others didn't get any fills.

I think it is. The idea is that on option expiration days many people need to buy/sell because they got assigned.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Played only 6 on my list (cancelled a lot) and got filled on 2. 33% fill rate!
If I hadn't cancelled that many on pre bid/ask I would have been filled on a load (around 25) of them and they would almost all have been winners.
 
AVP, DIS and WYE....small +$240. 5 of six days winners.

Drove down to Lauglin for a blackjack tournament. Played cash game on Friday, did pretty well...then got up Saturday...sat down to play....and I got the old "you're welcome to play the video games, but no table games, Mr. Bright" nonsense. Oh well, went from the Aquarius down to Avi (nice little Indian casino with it's own beach, etc.....they gave me a decent game and a nicer room, LOL.

Wife made it to number 70 of 710 in the tournament, I was out in the first round, LOL.

OK, back to work, hope everyone did well this morning.

what is the latest you can cancel OPG orders? I was under the impression that one submits OPG >5min before open and they can't be cancelled. I base this on my experience with MOC orders that I know I can't cancel <20min before close. I trade via IB.

You can cancel at any time. Whether they LET you cancel is another story, but it's very rare that you get stuck.
