Opening Only's 2010

Quote from Booker007:

What I show here is my fully automated 100 share per position results. I also have an opening system that I trade with bigger size and that one I do some sort of discretionary adjustments to every day. (IE: News, wider bands, Skew FV, etc…)

Booker, how do you compare results of the fully automated vs. discretionary versions? Much better? Not really worth it? 10-fold? Twice as good?

Over the long run there is very little difference between the auto vs. discretionary systems except the discreationary has a lot smoother P/L Chart. ie less volatility...

As for today I had FV at +0.195% and was 2:1 long.

The auto retrace program helps a lot when we have the quick "slingshot" trade...gap up 60 cents, prints down 15 cents in one second, then back to opening price. I set mine to capture half my shares immediately, which gives me this trade normally.

Can't do that manually, too old and slow, LOL.

what's the rationale?

Two trains of thought. Mine is that if the market is opening waaay up, that I don't want to buy a stock that is not opening up very far...since I'm playing for a retracement downward....

Others do both sided by enveloping the higher opening...

Some place buy orders below previous day's closing price only...

FV = +0.370% and was 2:1 Short.

Booker, is this streak of losses normal from your experience or it's signaling that something has to be tweaked in the strategy parameters?
