Not really an "edge" at this point in time. The "auction" is more of a simple follow through from the day's trading. On NYSE, there are actual Market on Close orders that allow for published imbalances, which make for end of day movement that can be captured (sometimes by using MOC orders yourself, sometimes simply trading the last 20 minutes at end of day).
