People are still arguing that Covid is similar to the flu because they are retarded.

Yeh well. The forecasting and modeling around this scenario is a total shit-show.
The lefties beat Trump for not relying on the experts but he and Fauci and Brix are putting out projected mortality data that is based on 12 different modelers/experts and relying mostly on the "experts" model at the University of Washington which is touted as the experts among experts not only in regard to the projection modeling but also in regard to nature of covid virus and also in regard to testing. They are about as "experted-up" as you can get now.
Yet is the team of experts/with the University of Washington being the lead that now says that the overall death mortality from covid by August (when they predict that 96% of the cases will be behind us) will be 68,000 deaths - which is consistent with a bad flu season in the U.S.
Yet your point about high death numbers from covid is valid - and the related asking of how this can be. Just sayin. There there are times when Trump and company suffer from not relying on the experts, and there are times when the experts are off in their own world and not making a lot of sense.
Similarly, the dems beat Trump into relying on the experts to respond to Cuomo's whining and the projected demand in New York. He hustled up a hospital ship that had to be re-purposed because it had no cases when it got there that could not be handled by the current system. And the military repurposed the javitts center which was not needed in the end. And Trump ordered private companies to build a kazillion ventilators to meet cuomo's demand based on what "the experts were saying." Now we have ventilators up the ying-yang and Trump has become a candyman handing them out to Europe, Mexico, etc, with hundreds and hundreds of thousands more to come.
So, in a jaundiced way, I am agreeing that the data does not all fit together in a tidy picture but - at this juncture- in no frigging way am I agreeing that it is because the Covid Response Team/Trump whatever is not looking at the science/the experts/the data. There are a lot of problems related to relying on the experts when their track record is not good.
