The BLM violence was an extremely small part of the overall protests and Democrats and protest organizers did condemn the violence. Otherwise, you might recall that violent protesters were arrested and protest camps like the CHOP on Seattle Capital Hill were forceably removed after a couple of weeks like what is happening now in Canada. So both left wing and right wing extremist elements are treated the same.
I wouldn't call over $2B worth of property damage and several deaths "an extremely small part of the overall protests". You sound like that CNN reporter standing in front of the burning riot on TV and declaring, "mostly peaceful". And that's not counting the looting that is still happening today which resulted from the Defund the Police movement directly attributed to BLM. Back then you also had people charged with serious crimes (assaulting police officers and trying to permanently blind them with lasers, attempting to burn down federal buildings and police buildings with people still inside, you know..."insurrection" type stuff) get their charges dropped by corrupt DAs like Portland's Mike Schmidt who announced ahead of time that rioting would not be prosecuted. You think I'm joking...
Those crimes include:
- Interfering with a peace officer or parole and probation officer
- Second-degree disorderly conduct
- First and second-degree criminal trespass
- Third-degree escape
- Harassment
- Riot - Unless accompanied by a charge outside of this list.

Have we seen any Canadian judge pre-announce that he/she will not charge truckers for illegally parking? Even in that article above, notice how they called it "protest". Sorry, but I don't consider rioting part of protest and those Canadian truckers would agree with that.
I didn't ask what Dem politicians condemned the
violence. I assume that most would if asked as even if they agreed with the violence (some actually did), most would not admit to that due to the political appearance. I asked what Dem politicians condemned the illegal occupation in Seattle and rioting that went on night after night for over 100 days summer 2020. Even the Portland Mayor sided with the "protestors" and joined them one night because he thought it would be in his political best interest in regards to reelection (he was running against someone even more radical) to do so. It wasn't until they started literally shooting fireworks at his home, sometime after being pressured by his neighbors and agreeing to move that he condemned only the violent part of it, but never went beyond that. No, most Dem politicians could not
fully condemn, the rioting, looting, property destruction, etc, because a large part of their base was out doing that stuff.
That said, I don't think the truckers have a right to block public roads. It is illegal and they should face the consequences. But if we use the BLM "protests" as a template for consequences, that means that their trucks get towed, maybe they spend a night in jail, then they get charged and then their charges get dropped after a day and nothing goes on their record. That's what would happen if justice was applied equally. What they should do is simply not show up to work. Problem solved after a few days.
