Only Trading The Spy? Good Idea or Nah?

I don't understand, why would one instrument only provide a few setups each week? I mainly trade one instrument and there's normally like at the very least 2-5 good/great setups per day and 8-20 additional so-so / acceptable setups.

The guy is an idiot .

That said, Velez is a crook

I agree. But the downside for new traders is it can lead to over trading. A single instrument is not going to provide more than a few worthwhile setups each week, if even that. And few new traders can handle the lack of action.

I can agree with that to a small degree, in that you DO get used to an instrument's behavior over a range of market conditions. But to say that one instrument has only a few worthwhile setups per week is simply not true for all instruments. I mean, look at *insert any instrument symbol except class IV milk here*.

Many setups each day on all of them in this highly-ranged market.

But if you can expand your view to a few more than just the one instrument, you give yourself more options if one instrument lags in the number of setups over given period of time over the other one.

Again, if someone said all they trade is ES futures, you would not say shit. Many do that

SPY is the SAME THING

do you not get that? , or are you deliberately dense

I recently watched a YouTube video from Oliver Velez, I know kind of a shady dude but I liked his video on this topic because it makes alot of sense. If your focusing on the same thing every single day, whether it be an individual stock or the spy you get used to it's movements. What's your thoughts on this topic?

Most of the stock pimps here and on youtube are frauds. As as many posters

Truth
