Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here. Have been reading posts for days, and gotten a pretty good feel of things here. Some excellent information, and very impressed with the expertise of many here. I have a couple of questions.. I have been using eTrade for 20 years, but feel as if it lags in transactions. I'm not trying to do this full time, but rather part time, and doing a combo of day trading/swing trading. Is there a good broker you suggest for me that would work well in combination with a good stock scanner? I know some use TD ToS with LightSpeed, but have read great feedback here about using a combo of Multicharts with IB. What do you recommend?
I took the "Become a Day Trader" course from Investopedia, with former Wall St Trader David Green (Has anyone here heard of him or know anything about him?), and he uses a combo of TD ToS with LightSpeed, but figure to get your opinions here. Appreciate your time in advance!
A little about me. Hack Day/Swing Trader, for 20 years. Have lost more than i've made, especially in the beginning when I started 20 yrs ago while working at Oracle, but then turned $500 into $20,000 about 12 years ago on a penny stock 'PTSC'.. I got swept away by RE investing, and left trading to buy, renovate, flip and manage rental properties. While doing that, I started up a successful Amusement Vending Company via equity from my RE Holdings. Went threw scary times when the 2008 Recession hit, and somehow lived to talk about it, without going bankrupt... Expensive lessons in life, but the important thing is to learn from your mistakes. Unfortunately, my previous experiences did make me a little gun shy, but I have come back swinging for the fences, albeit a little more conservative and calculated than before. I have always been humble, and tried helping others (Those with a good heart). I never act like i know everything, because we're ALLways learning
