One giant mortgage crisis wasn't enough

I disagree. These banks under attack are not part of any lobby group in any form of control. This is a Fed/big govt take over. Which of course includes a few banks. But only few. This structure may fool some. The two are separate. These banks are being forced to blow themselves up.

To turn around and blame all of these banks is slight of hand, that only works on the ignorant. With the ultimate goal of blaming freedom and free markets in the end. For the continued consolidation of power.

There's no way to do that. But no doubt part of their campaign is to counteract the nonsensical populist mantra that the "banksters" are the only ones responsible. Which has made squatters who used their houses as ATMs and haven't made a mortgage payment in years "victim-heroes" instead of the deadbeat scum they really are, and has made pandering socialist politicians saviors instead of the un-American scum they are. And what really concerns me is the point Illum is making about the breakdown of society which this has certainly contributed to, and in spades.

Listen, did you actually read what I said? Did I say that I am blaming the banks in the original article for anything? Moreover, I am not going to argue with you about whether this is some monstrous government conspiracy, as it's a waste of time.

I agree its a waste of time, mine. The article states. Banks need to lend MORE to deadbeats. The justice department is on your ass if you don't. Not only that. FOODSTAMPS is the COLLATERAL.

What populist mantra? We have not held a single banking executive responsible for anything... No serious aspect of the industry has changed. Glass-Steagall hasn't been reintroduced. TBTF is an even bigger issue now than before. This what you call us holding the "banksters" as the only ones responsible? Let me suggest to you again to go read the story of Peter Wallison and the FCIC. Try to ignore the politics of the issue and maybe you'll see what I mean.
