Thanks newwurldmn. I didn't realize that 1/26 wasn't confirmed. The price of these options seems to be telling us that 1/26 won't be the earnings release date. Thats the only explanation that makes sense to me. Someone must know what the date will be, even though Amazon hasn't released it yet. Will be interesting to see what they announce. And if they announce it will be after 1/26, how did the guys trading these options know about it ahead of time?

Its because they can't hire enough people to count all the money they made this season in time for 1/26.
It will be a market moving event, whenever they decide to announce. A real window (and best for now) into the health of the consumer.

Everyday they don't announce the date, makes it less likely.

True, but yesterday the options were priced like earnings would happen on 1/26. This morning all of that price premium was gone. It happened too suddenly.
