??? on leverage for high $$ traders

For traders here who are trading lots of shares and lots of $'s every day - how much leverage are you using as a multiple of your equity. For example, where I trade I am allowed to use 4 times equity intraday. I rarely use more than 2 times. What is everyone else using? Thanks
 
80x - So you mean that if you have $1,000 in equity, you trade $$80,000 worth of stock. What happens if one of your stocks goes against you by a few cents??
