WHO skipped Greek letters Nu, Xi to name O-Micron variant.
MICRON TECHNOLOGY MU
will probably send a protest note to WHO.
You can't use Omega because there are OMEGA watches.
You can't use Sigma because there is Sigma Corporation.
You can't use Zeta because it is a modern banking tech company, US.
You can't use Lambda because there is Lambda Clothing.
etc
And there will be more mutants coming up.
It seems like WHO has to come up with some
alien symbols / letters to name the variant
so as not to offend anyone / company.

The same was said about the original virus, though. Clearly not a non-issue, although the markets seem to think so.
So maybe it is a non-issue.
If China starts posting videos of people fainting on Twitter which don't happen anywhere else in the world, you'll know ((they)) are trying to tank the market.

The market is bouncing back because both the SA and an Israeli doctor said that although Omicron is probably more able to spread, but symptoms are LESS.
Which is what we want in a new variant!!! Get everybody as quickly as possible infected with a milder version, so populations have immunity by either vax or naturally. THAT ends the pandemic...
Edit: Mind you, just because Omicron is probably less symptomatic than Delta, it WILL STILL KILL! People still going to die a lot, but less lot than if it was a more dangerous variant. Get vaxxed, get boosted. [end of public service announcement]

Too bad. They should have kept "Nu" in the mix. Then we could have "Delta", and "Nu" variants at the same time. "Delta Nu" is the sorority of Elle Woods in "Legally Blond". Having Delta/Nu variants would have been a hoot... like the movie.
We still have to kill it because you never know what's the next variant going to be like if you don't eradicate it and let it keep on mutating. Even though symptoms are milder but the transmissibility is lot higher. You never know maybe the virus mutates itself to have milder symptoms on purpose to trick us humans to let our guard down and allow it to survive and mutate for longer so the next variant that it mutates to can kill us all.
You should fear omicron and all next 5645654373 variants and other diseases! Fear sheeple! Fear it!!!!!! The more, the better. Fear terrorists too. Fear gun owners. Fear DeSantis fans. Fear yourself and co2. Fear heterosexuals, esp those who dont like fiat currencies. Fear Fear FEAR.
