The rumor/reporting is that she is still being investigated. The feds under Jeff Sessions would not go after her but the issue are surfacing again because some of the state agencies, journalists, and public officials in Minnesota have done their own investigations and some of it is not pretty and they have made referrals to the justice department to have investigations done. So the issues arise again under Barr's watch. So we shall have to see.
Some of the ugliest allegations, such as marrying the brother for visa purposes actually appear to be true rather than a smear. And it is even uglier than that. There are allegations- backed by investigations in Minn which are backed by documents- that allegedly show that her own immigration to this country was fraudulent- in that the person she listed as her father who sponsored her was not her father, then she allegedly did her own fraudulent sponsoring of her brother, and so on. These allegations spun for a long time and were dismissed as right wing stuff but, as I said they are getting another round or scrutiny since the complaints to the state and to feds come with documents and more background investigation which even state officials dont know how the hell to make it go away.
Obviously the feds dont want to touch it until they have to, but that time seems to have arrived. If not, you can be sure that her NEW political opponent will sort some things out for the voters. Oh, did I mention that she is an investigative journalist by trade.
She is beyond sketchy at this point. She may be able to contain it at "just sketchy" but it is going to take some defense lawyers to do it.
