Olympic lifters/Crossfit workout and diet thread

I am 6'3" 245 and roughly the same BMI. The smallest in my family . My paternal grandmother was 6'2". G-dad was 6'10 330 and ripped at 65yo. All Swedes from Stockholm, Oland.

For supplemental protein I run these two:

PeptoPro hydro caseinate: http://truenutrition.com/p-978-peptopro-hydrolyzed-caseinate-1lb-milk.aspx

NOW unflavored WPI: http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Spor...1&disc=0&lc=en-US&w=now whey&rc=114&sr=3&ic=2

Cutting for me involves going sub-maintenance. I try not to change my diet too much unless I am cutting for Summer or some event (bouldering or mountaineering trip). My diet revolves around beans, legumes, lean meats and potatoes (bulking). I don't eat much grain unless I am dining out -- then I eat whatever I like. If you limit yourself (not having the stuff in the house) then you'll eat it sparingly when out and not feel deprived.

I eat a metric ton of lentil soup. It's nearly a perfect meal. High protein/fiber. Satiety is very high. I can eat 600cals in lentils (40g protein) and not be able to eat for 6 hours.

I buy the organic corn tortillas from WFM and their org refried pinto beans. Reasonably high in protein as well. Fry the tort in a couple tbsp of coconut oil for a minute or two per side. Add the pinto beans and Cholula (or stronger) hot sauce. Med heat for 5-7 minutes. 200cals or so per tortilla. Ridiculous, try them.

Dinner is usually salmon or occasionally tuna. Chicken once a week as a tamale or similar. Once or twice a week it's grass-fed tacos, burgers or rib-eye/filet/NY. I grill the meat rare and then cut into strips and fry in grass-fed butter and eat over a small amount of rice with soy sauce. I was addicted to Kobe burgers for awhile.

I am the guy who can eat the same meal each day for three years straight. My diet isn't terribly varied.

I juice DAILY with a 105rpm worm-drive (Green Power) juicer. Kale, celery, English cucumber, lemon, ginger (lots), apples. http://www.greenstar.com/

Here's a pic of arms (lol) from my last bulk, zero definition, but they're approaching 18". Shirt is an XXL Kjus layering ski top. My bench was at ATH here at ~390. nohomo.

As far as "PEDs" go, I usually go with a 30-day cycle of Tiratricol when cutting along with some *mild* stim and AAS.

I also use a sleep-met protocol in which I take Benadryl, DMAA, EPA and Idebenone at bedtime. Occasionally some valerian as well. I take my waking temp to see if I am running hot. If not, then I will titrate the dose (up).

*I am not recommending the Bena/DMAA protocol and the stuff is scheduled now, anyway. If you are interested, PM me. I won't respond to aliases I don't know, one post wonders.

Classic mesomorph genetics. And a 6'2" grandmother?:eek:Talk about behaving oneself as a kid! 6'10" is off he chain!

And yes, I'd like to see what kind of lentil soup recipes you're making.

The cholula I go through in an insane manner. My Son eats some garbage, and he eats up all the cholula. All the steaks; all the fish. Ever see the movie "Friday?" Well, I'm the non-dog catching, version of Mr. jones. Lol!

I'll try the WFM tortillas. Is he coconut oil a healthy add, or there for taste?

I live on salmon, but won't buy the farm raised garbage from my local stores. I'll have to pay more to get it from a local market that only buys wild caught. In season it's not bad. Out of season, I pay considerably more. Supply + demand...

Don't have a juicer, but have been told months ago by a very good holistic med dr that I should. I don't know if I can drink green-colored stuff at first...

I've not tried the triax, but may as I don't use t3 anymore.

And Benadryl knocks me on the deck! No melatonin?

I didn't say anything, or even stare. I asked my son if he did anything, but he said no. We were putting the dogs in the car, and I was kind of pre-occupied by getting sand off their feet. Whatever these two gals were up to, I have no clue. Now if it were just me, damn skippy, I would have rolled the window down, and figured out what was going on. LOL! As for my son, he was quite for the short drive home. At 16, I can only imagine what he's thinking. And I don't want to know! Lol

If there was a practical use for Google Glass, this would be it...

Coconut oil is preferable (for taste). IMO. Read-up on the benefits. You'll need a jar or so if you're going to do the CoQ10. May as well get another to cook with.

Melatonin doesn't keep me asleep. I don't like taking Benadryl, so it's def a 30-day cycle with Idebenone. The DMAA is fairly potent but mild when compared to ECA.

Wife did this one last time, reduced the volume of onions: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/lentil-soup-recipe.html

Will try the recipe. The Benadryl I'll use prn, but may try a cycle of it during a blast. Also, please expand on the coconut oil and CoQ10. Do I need it with the coq10 powder? I thought I'd dose the Coq10 in water via the tsp/dose directions on the pack.

The bena is an agonist for the DMAA.

Nooo. CoQ10 is insoluble in water. Plasma levels are something approaching 5x higher in coconut oil than just taking the powder or gel caps. One gram in the coconut oil + CoQ10 is like five grams in gel caps.

You can see it's completely homogenous now:

Shit! Thought I had a handle on this. Ok, tell me how to do this step by step, as this is over my head. I was planning on 1,200mg QoQ10/day.

You grab 14oz bottle of coconut oil from WFM or TJ, etc. Spoon the coconut oil into a saucepan on low heat. Pour the warm coconut oil back into the bottle after three minutes.

Add the 56g of CoQ10 into the bottle of warm coconut oil. add a little coconut oil into the Now CoQ10 bottles as it will cling to the plastic bottles.

The result is approx. 1,000mg of CoQ10 per tsp of coconut oil.

Two of these per 14oz bottle of coconut oil. Run about $85 with discounts. http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-CoQ1...=en-US&w=now coq10 powder&rc=719&sr=null&ic=1

Here's another recipe:

http://support.purebulk.com/help/kb/product-usage/is-coenzyme-q10-water-soluble

Coenzyme Q10 is a very large molecule with chemical properties that affect the rate in which the body can absorb the supplement. It is hydrophobic and repels water, although it can be mixed in water or a favorite juice drink and consumed in suspension.

However, very little is absorbed by the body if it is just taken directly with water in powder form (or as a powder in capsules).

The assimilation and absorption of Coenzyme Q10 is improved if taken with a fatty substance such as oil, peanut butter or olive oil. Coenzyme Q10 oral supplements are commonly sold as gel caps dissolved in soybean oil. While this delivery method is somewhat better,

PureBulk suggests the following recipe to increase the bioavailability and absorption of Coenzyme Q10:

Coconut Q10
(Coenzyme Q10 & Coconut Oil Recipe for Increased Bioavailability)

1) Heat 16 fluid ounces of coconut oil to between 150°F (65°C) and 158°F (70°C) in a sauce pan on the stove.
2) Add 25 grams of Coenzyme Q10 powder. The powder will melt instantly and dissolve into the hot oil.
3) Stir for one minute.
4) Remove from heat and allow to cool to between 80°F (27°C) and 90°F (32°C).
5) Pour mixture into a rigid plastic or glass resealable food storage container and allow to cool to room temperature.
6) At below 76°F (24.4°C) coconut oil will turn solid, and that is fine.
7) The blended oil should be kept sealed but refrigeration is optional.
8) A level half teaspoon of this oil, liquid or solid, will net approximately 130 milligrams Coenzyme Q10, which is in the usual range of a commonly recommended serving size for this most bioavailable form of CoQ10.
9) Do not exceed a serving size of 1 level teaspoon (260 milligrams) of the blended Coenzyme Q10 coconut oil per day, except under the care and supervision of a physician.
10) If possible, take your CoQ10 with a fatty food at meal time. You may spread it on toast or add it to any food as you would if it were butter.

This 16 fluid ounce recipe will net 96 level teaspoons, or 192 level 1/2-teaspoons, enough bioavailable dissolved coconut oil Coenzyme Q10 for a 6-month supply.

I don't add the CoQ10 to the saucepan as (interfacial tension) it will be hard to get all of the CoQ10 mixture out of the saucepan. So add the powder to the virgin oil AFTER it's back in the bottle

Ok, I can get my head around this. Btw, this http://purebulk.com/coenzyme-q10-coq10-usa.html#product_tabs_product_review
or the now brand?

I've used the PureBulk stuff sourced from both the USA and Japan and it's just fine. I usually go with the Now as I know that it's sourced direct from Kaneka and I get volume discounts from iherb. They are essentially interchangeable. A tsp will do wonders. Keep it in a cabinet. I don't put it in the fridge as it's like a rock when cold and it's unnecessary.
